Eight Years After Boyer:
Ten Indicators of Excellence in Undergraduate Education

In 2001, at the behest of the Boyer Commission, the Reinvention Center conducted a survey to examine the development of undergraduate education at research universities in the three years following publication of the Commission’s report Reinventing Undergraduate Education: A Blueprint for America's Research Universities (1998). The survey used as its reference the "ten indicators of excellence" promulgated by the Boyer Commission. This survey continues the examination, focusing on the five year period from 2001-2006. While most of the questions correspond directly to those asked in 2001, several new items have been added, reflecting new interests and priorities that have emerged in the intervening years.

This survey has three sections and will take approximately one hour to complete in full. You may save your answers after each section is complete and return to complete the subsequent sections.
